Austraila: 2002 Vintage:

This was the coolest growing season in the past 75 years.  It was also the driest growing season in a century.  All this added up to one of the best vintages ever.  After speaking with a number of wine makers they all have said that this may be the best wine that they have ever made. 

On the 2003 Vintage:

this appears to be a challenging vintage.  There has been a good amount of rain along with a very hot growing season.  The high end wine that have taken the care to prune back there fruit and really focus on the best cluster will have great wine.  Other may turn out to be just average.  This is a vintage that will need careful study.

 On the 2000 Vintage:

We have always said that great wine maker find a way to make great wine even in challenging vintages.  This year will prove to be a tough year.  Cold and wet weather prevailed and made it a very challenging vintage.  Those that dropped fruit and did a hand selection of grape cluster will have soft and approachable wine that should drink well for 5-8 years and be the wines you look for when you need a bottle for tonight!  The wine makers that just went for tonage will have very soft, green wine that may be best left on the shelves.

The 2001 Vintage:

It is said that if you made a bad wine in this vintage you may need to rethink you profession.  this was a textbook perfect vintage.  The temps and the rain all were perfect look for outstanding wines from top to bottom.  This is the year to not only look for the 100 point wines that cost an arm and a leg but to explore some mid and lower priced wine that will drink well for 5-7 years and really express the vintage.
