  Artez Baco V.S.O.P. Bas-Armagnac  ($44.99)   750 ml
Artez is a small Armagnac producer who owns 12 hectares (30 acres) located in the Western part of the Bas Armagnac, also known as the First Cru. The uniqueness of Artez lies in its ability to produce mostly single varietals of Armagnac, a very rare specialty which requires special skills from both the distiller and the blender. Using grapes from forty year old vines, the Artez are produced without any added caramel or sugar, for the purest and truest color and flavor. The result is a bolder, more spicy flavor caters to more serious Armagnac afficionados rather than those in search of the smoothest textures. Very unique and very good [Item #624]
  Artez V.S.O.P. Bas-Armagnac  ($44.99)   750 ml
100% Folle Blanche Grapes. This Bas Armagnac is made from 100% Folle Blanche grape, which was the staple grape in Armagnac, France until the phylloxera destroyed the whole vineyard in 1862. Today, Folle Blanche represents only 5% of the total Armagnac vineyard, making Artez Armagnac Folle Blanche a rare spirit indeed. This VSOP is single distilled at the estate and put into oak barrel for 6 years minimum. It displays floral aromatics typical of the grape varietal, white peach flower, dried apricot and orange peel flavors [Item #623]

94pts BTI-Deep amber copper color. Vibrant aromas of baked raisins, coconut custard, cocoa powder, exotic peppercorns, buttery nuts, and leather follow through to a supple, fruity full body with buttery praline, dried peach, candied ginger, coconut cream, and clover honey notes. Finishes with a long, evolving fade of honey, cocoa, fruit, and peppery spice. A remarkably fruity, flavorful and approachable Armagnac with a superb combination of power and poise [Item #625]
  Delord X.O. Bas-Armagnac  ($49.99)   750 ml
Bas Armagnac Delord XO is aged for a minimum of 6 years in oak. 'The burnished/tawny/bronze colour is gorgeous; excellent clarity. The first inhalations come across laid back aromas of caramel, marshmallow, and cotton candy; aeration brings out the depthand key importance of the oak through scents of vanilla bean, dark honey, nougat, pipe tobacco and rancio. The palate entry is fat, buttery and creamy; at mid-palate the taste profile soars as robust flavours take charge, most prominently, honey, dark toffeeand cocoa. Texture is heavy. Finishes on a honeyed note. An excellent armagnac [Item #626]

Ancestrale 70 Yr. Cognac: 99pts Beverage Tasting Institute. This exceptional cognac is produced with eaux-de-vie from barrels dating back to the harvests of the 1920s. Burnished gold in color, this rare cognac is comparable to a very old wine in its subtlety and complexity. Having a very delicate nose, it balances prune and chocolate aromas in a perfectly aged, pure eau-de-vie. No more than 300 bottles are released each year. The is the slim bottle in the old styly box and waxed capsule. [Item #742]

  Tesseron Lot N° 29 XO Exception Grande Champagne 1929  ($699.99)   750 ml
Robert Parker 100 Points!! A rare Cognac that may not yet be available in the United States. The Tesseron family, who made their fortune in Cognac (but are probably best known by wine lovers as the proprietor of Pontet Canet and Lafon Rochet) released tiny quantities of single vintage Cognacs. Although French law does not permit a vintage date to be used, this is all from 1929, and is very limited in availability. I'm not an expert on Cognac, but anything this smooth, silky, potent, and aromatic, is truly great stuff. It is about as ethereal Cognac as anyone could ever hope to drink [Item #486]
